Two Dressers - Both Damaged NO call back from Management
I purchased a dresser and waited a month for it to be delivered. Then drivers showed me a small scratch on the bottom of the dresser..
The Driver said someone can come out and fix it and if you are not satisfied you can still get a new one.. I agreed and the delivery guy holding the dresser on the truck then decides to push it into the lip at the end of the truck and RIPS about four inches of wood off the back leg.. I told them to take it back they informed me that a manager would be calling me before 5 PM. That never happened.
I called and complained and they said I could wait a month and a half when the new dresser came in or they just happen to have one that was supposed to go to another customer later in November. The next day they delivered the other dresser and IT WAS DAMAGED !! Both times they didn’t wrap the dresser. Both times the drivers just dragged the dresser on the truck..
I called customer service again and was told a manager would call me and of course that never happened. I will never buy anything from Steinhafels again.

Horrible customer service
This has been my worst experience with a company ever. I should have been tipped off because the first time I stepped foot into the Vernon Hills Steinhafels, nobody greeted me or asked if I needed help the entire time I was there.
Nonetheless, I found the perfect couch and came back the next day (May 22, 2015) to order a couch and loveseat. I was informed that there was one loveseat in stock and the couch was arriving on May 31. I specifically asked if that date was correct, cause I didn't want to have an incomplete set and didn't want to deal with back orders. The salesperson assured me that this date was correct and could have my couch delivered within a few days.
May 31 comes and goes and no contact. On June 2, I call customer service to inquire about my couch. The representative very curtly replies that I'll get an email tomorrow and that weekly updates are sent on Wednesdays. I was taken aback cause I was told nothing of this when buying the furniture.
The representative then reluctantly looks up my order and states the furniture was listed to arrive at the end of June. When I tried to ask questions, and stated I needed this furniture for an event, she stated that's what the computer says and I shouldn't have bought that couch then. Upset, I contacted the salesperson who sold me the couch, and she assured me that she was sure it would be in by the first week of July (when my event was). On June 10, I get an email saying my couch is estimated to arrive June 21.
On June 17, it's estimated for June 28. On June 24, it's estimated for July 2. July 2 passes, with no email that day or the following day. I call customer service and am told it's estimated to arrive July 12, which is past the first week of July that I was assured my couch would arrive, and past when I needed it by.
If I had been told at the beginning this could happen, I would have ordered elsewhere. Instead, they happily took my money and strung me along until it was too late to get other furniture. Not only have I not had anywhere comfortable to sit for six weeks now, my guests will now be sitting on folding chairs for my party. I canceled my order and will not be shopping here ever again.
I strongly urge you not to trust this company or the salespeople and to shop elsewhere.

Only 3 years later mattress is shot, "Dream" warranty is a nightmare
Bought a mattress (and a mattress cover) about 3 years ago with Steinhafels dream warranty. I only had the mattress for about 2 years when I started noticing body indentations.
Someone came out to inspect the mattress yesterday and told me it was completely shot as well as the box spring on both sides. I got an email this morning saying that it wasn't covered under warranty because of a stain (the stain is small, less then an inch wide). The stain soaked through the mattress cover they sold me as well. I am a bit confused because I am not sure how something I DID changes the fact that I was sold a mattress that was not durable as well as a cover that was not as protecting as promised.
To me I feel like the stain aspect of the warranty is a bluff to easily (and a nice cheap legal loophole) turn people away from getting the type of warranty they actually deserve.
I've had MANY friends in similar situations with their warranties and not only for mattresses. If this is not resolved I'll be canceling my Steinhafels credit card and letting everyone I know not to buy their furniture from there again/ever.

As the manufacturer of the piece in question, we are very sorry to hear about the issues you had with delivery. Steinhafels has been selling our product for many years and they are an excellent store and that provides quick service.
Our apologies for any problems that you have had and we hate to hear of a customer that was not able to get our product as they expected. We sincerely hope that you contact Steinhafels again as I am sure they would be as eager as we are to resolve this issue.
